PC Tether is a small operation, so your email reaches the person who can fix it. Most of the problems below take a minute to sort out. If yours doesn't, write to us and we'll answer.

We read every email. Expect a reply within two business days, usually sooner. Please tell us your operating system and roughly when the problem started, because that alone answers half of what we would otherwise have to ask you.
How to fix common PC Tether problems
The download stops before it finishes
If you took the Android app from our website rather than Google Play, it is a 71 MB file, and the Windows installer is about 110 MB, so on a weak mobile signal either one can stop part way. You do not have to start again.
Open your browser's downloads list and press Retry or Resume, and it carries on from where it stopped. If you can, move to Wi-Fi first, and start one file at a time.
If it keeps stopping, email us with which file it was and roughly how far it got, and we will find another way to get it to you.
The phone cannot find my PC
Check the PC app is running. It sits in the system tray by the clock with no window open, so it is easy to think it closed when it did not. If it is running, make sure the PC is awake. A sleeping computer cannot answer.
It connected, then dropped
The usual cause is the PC going to sleep. In Tether on the PC, check that Stay reachable is switched on. It is on by default, and it stops the PC dozing off on its own while a phone is paired. A closed lid or the power button still puts it to sleep. If it keeps dropping while the PC is awake, write to us with the time it happened.
The picture is slow or blurry
Both ends share whatever connection they have. A phone on a weak mobile signal is the usual cause. If you can, put the phone on Wi-Fi and try again. If it is slow on a good connection, that is worth an email.
I need to unpair a phone
Open the PC app and find the Paired phones list. Press Remove beside the phone you want out, then press it again to confirm. It loses access immediately.
I lost my phone
Remove it from the Paired phones list on the PC, as above. That cuts it off straight away. If you cannot reach the PC, email us and we will help you cut access another way.
Is there an iPhone app?
Not yet. It is built and submitted to Apple, and not approved yet. Windows and Android are ready today.
Privacy and your data
Your screen and your files are sealed end to end. On your own Wi-Fi they pass directly between your two devices. From away they pass through our relay, which cannot read them. How the encryption works explains what the relay can and cannot see. Full detail is in the privacy policy and the terms.
Reporting a security problem
If you have found a security flaw, please write to support@pctether.com with the subject line "Security". Tell us what you found and how to reproduce it. We will confirm we received it, and we will not take any action against you for telling us.
